"Yet a review of the 2008 debate marathon offers our best window into how she’ll behave on stage with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, as she faces Bernie Sanders and three other white men Americans would be hard pressed to pick out of a police line-up. Via the Time Machine that is the World Wide Web, I revisited those debates, which started in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and motored through Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and other towns before ending in Philadelphia, where the final contestants, Clinton and Barack Obama, threw their last primary punches. In reviewing those debates, I found Hillary an adaptive verbal combatant who is as capable of comic self-effacement as snake-like killer strikes. And, moreover, it may be that two strategies that didn’t work particularly well for her last time around might be just what the doctor ordered for fall 2015."
