Bruins de Boston: confiants de répéter leur exploit de la saison dernière!
La saison début ce soir! Voici un extrait du Boston Herald sur les chances des Bruins:
"So is the idea of another duck boat parade through Boston next June a hopeless dream? Well, no, not at all. There is every reason to believe the Bruins are going to put a much stronger team on the ice than last season, a club loaded with young players who should be far better and more confident after all they went through in 2010-11.
The Bruins certainly will take the ice for Game 1 against the Philadelphia Flyers believing they can and will pull off the repeat.
“It’s a good challenge for us,” center Patrice Bergeron said. “Yes, last year was a dream come true for everyone. But that being said, it’s over, and now we’ve got to keep going. We’re the defending champ and we should take pride in that.”
Not like old times
The days of NHL teams entering seasons fully expecting to win, feeling that anything short of a Cup is unacceptable, are long gone. Many Montreal Canadiens teams quite justifiably felt that way, producing numerous Cup-winning streaks. The New York Islanders dominated with four straight wins in the early ’80s, and the Edmonton Oilers followed them with five titles in seven years.
“It used to be easy to repeat back in the ’70s and ’80s,” said former Bruins and Canadiens tough guy Chris Nilan, now a Montreal radio analyst. “When you had a good, solid, winning team, you could keep that team together for a few years. Now with free agency and everything, it’s difficult to keep the same crew together.
“The Bruins are lucky that they did that. I think (general manager Peter) Chiarelli has done a tremendous job putting that team together and keeping it together.”"
