Whitney Houston: le gouverneur de son état natal prévoit un hommage

La chanteuse est originaire du New Jersey.

"With a funeral service for the late Whitney Houston scheduled to take place in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, Gov. Chris Christie says he is planning to order flags to be flown at half-staff in the singer’s honor. “Obviously, Whitney Houston was an important part of the fabric -- the cultural fabric of this state,” Christie told reporters at a press conference Tuesday, saying that Houston “belongs in the same category” as Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Bruce Springsteen – also artists born in the Garden State. “Her accomplishments in her life were a source of great pride” for the people of New Jersey, Christie added. The governor said his office has been in contact with Houston’s family for details about the services and that he will hold off on signing the executive order until he has the particulars. Christie ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff last June after the death of Clarence Clemons, a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band."
