Devoir de mémoire... Le Canada a joué un rôle très important après les attaques.
"Prime Minister Stephen Harper will travel to New York this weekend to take part in commemoration ceremonies for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Harper will join a public memorial service on Sunday in lower Manhattan, the site of the former World Trade Center buildings whose destruction 10 years ago also tore through Western society.
The evening before, the prime minister will meet privately with the families of Canadians killed in the co-ordinated terrorist attacks in Washington and New York.
Canadians have also been celebrated for their role in helping Americans get through that very dark day and those that followed.
The Newfoundland town of Gander received an international resiliency award at a day-long summit on the attacks in the U.S. capital.
The town of nearly 10,000 people opened its heart — and its homes — to 6,700 airline passengers and crew members stranded in Newfoundland after all flights were grounded in the chaotic aftermath of the attacks in New York and Washington."
