"Actress Julianne Moore, upon accepting her Emmy for outstanding actress in a miniseries or movie for her depiction of Sarah Palin in HBO’s “Game Change,” told the crowd: “Wow. I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down.” (Palin was a frequent critic of the film, which focused on the McCain/Palin ticket in 2008.)
In addition to Moore’s award, “Game Change” won Emmys for outstanding miniseries or movie, outstanding director for a miniseries or movie (Jay Roach), outstanding casting for a miniseries, movie or a special and outstanding writing for a miniseries, movie or a dramatic special.
Host Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the show right away on a political note, asking the crowd, “Is anyone here voting for Mitt Romney?” After only a minor showing of support, Kimmel said, “Oh good, only 40 Republicans, and the rest godless liberal homosexuals.”
