Harry Truman justifie le recours à l'arme nucléaire: les archives du magazine "The Atlantic"

Dans une lettre publiée en 1947 le président Harry Truman justifiait le recours à l'arme nucléaire pour freiner le Japon. Les implications morales de l'utilisation de cette arme terrifiante demeurent pertinentes en 2018.

 "The Japanese were given fair warning, and were offered the terms which they finally accepted, well in advance of the dropping of the bomb. I imagine the bomb caused them to accept the terms."
