Chloe Kim entraînée dans le débat sur l'immigration

La jeune sensation américaine a été entraînée bien malgré elle dans la tourmente politique entourant le débat sur l'immigration lorsque le Sénateur Dick Durban a mentionné l'histoire de son père. Le démocrate de l'Illinois, qui avait installé à ses côtés une photographie de la championne olympique posant avec le drapeau américain, a mentionné que si on appliquait les mesures particulièrement sévères exigées par le président et ses alliés républicains il n'y aurait pas cette belle histoire de championne olympique.

 "The Kim's family inspirational story doesn't just belong to them, Durbin notes.

 "It's America's story too," he said. "There are members of the Senate on the other side who don't buy this story. They think it's time to change this narrative, about America and its diversity and its origins and its roots."

The Senate is debating immigration this week, but it's not going well, and none of the current proposals seemed to have garnered enough support to pass."
