Accusé de plagiat, Rand Paul s'excuse timidement...

Fils de Ron Paul et personnage apprécié du Tea party, le sénateur du Kentucky a été pointé pour du plagiat (parfois il a copié wikipédia) dans des discours et/ou des articles. Il reconnaît des erreurs de son équipe tout en prétextant le rythme de travail très rapide qu'imposent sa fonction et sa visibilité à l'échelle nationale. Il se dit victime de ceux qui le détestent. De plus, sa définition du plagiat est un peu laxiste... S'il souhaite se présenter à la présidentielle de 2016, il devra apprendre à gérer ce type de dossier et vite. Des erreurs gênantes pour n'importe quel candidat, encore plus pour celui qui a des prétentions à la plus haute fonction politique des États-Unis.

 "On Tuesday, Mr. Paul argued that that did not technically represent plagiarism. “Trying to say someone commits plagiarism, you’re saying that someone is dishonest,” he said. “And, well, it would be dishonest if I tried to say, ‘Oh, I had this great idea for a movie, and this is my idea, and this is a story I wrote in college called ‘Gattaca.’ ”

Mr. Paul said that the unattributed passages of his Washington Times article were the result of life at the speed of a newly minted national political figure, and that the article had been adapted from a speech, which was one of the reasons it was not vetted."
