Depuis que Donald Trump en entré dans la course en 2015 le thème de la sécurité à la frontière revient constamment dans l'actualité. Presque tous les angles ont été abordés, du combat législatif aux conditions de détention des illégaux. Le New York Times traite cette fois la question sous l'angle de ceux qui appliquent les directives administratives et qui se retrouvent sur la ligne de feu. Les agents déplorent tous que leur travail est de plus en plus difficile.

The job has taken a psychological toll on men and women alike.
