Papelbon avec les Phillies!
Après l'entraîneur et le DG, les Red Sox de Boston se séparent de Jonathan Papelbon. Un très bon releveur qui ira enrichir l'impressionnant groupe de lanceurs des Phillies de Philadelphie.
"The move will bring to an end Papelbon’s seven-year run with the Red Sox. Papelbon went 31-for-34 in save opportunities and posted a 2.94 ERA this season. His final blown save came in the Red Sox’ crushing season finale in Baltimore on Sept. 28. Indeed, the final image of his Red Sox career would be walking off the mound at Camden Yards moments before their historic collapse was complete.
Papelbon, who turns 31 later this month, is a four-time All-Star and the first pitcher ever to compile 30 or more saves in his first six full seasons as a closer. A fourth-round pick of the Red Sox in the 2003 draft, he has 219 saves and a 2.33 ERA in 396 career appearances. Papelbon threw the final pitch in Game 4 of the 2007 World Series, and he will be remembered in New England for his Irish step dance on the mound after postseason series-clinchers, his entry music ("Shipping Up To Boston" by Dropkick Murphys) and his self-declared nickname, "Cinco Ocho.""
