Karl Rove laisse planer le doute sur la santé d'Hillary Clinton

Je mentionnais la semaine dernière que les républicains attaquaient régulièrement Hillary Clinton alors qu'elle n'a rien annoncé pour la présidentielle 2016. Au rythme actuel que leur restera-t-il lorsque la véritable campagne aura débuté? La dernière attaque provient su stratège Karl Rove qui affirme que le cerveau de Mme Clinton souffre peut-être des retombées d'un caillot de sang découvert en 2012. Au-delà de l'attaque sur son état de santé actuel, Rove souhaite probablement qu'on s'interroge sur l'âge de l'ancienne Secrétaire d'État qui a 66 ans. Sera-t-elle assez forte pour résister à une campagne et, éventuellement, aux rigueurs de la fonction présidentielles. En 2008 on avait soulevé le même genre de questions sur l'état de santé de John McCain qui était cependant plus âgé que Mme Clinton ne l'est.

On Monday, Democrats and others on Twitter were quick to slam Rove, and the Democratic National Committee blasted out criticism soon after.

 Clinton, no stranger to scrutiny, tends to be viewed more favorably when she is perceived as being under unfair assault, causing the Democratic base to rally around her. Still, the comment is a way to inject into the bloodstream a topic that Republicans and even privately some Democrats have discussed quietly: whether the 66-year-old’s health is strong enough for a presidential campaign.
