Obama, le Sénat et la CIA

Un peu plus tôt dans ma chronique à Radio-Canada je référais au refus de Barack Obama d'enquêter sur les pratiques d'interrogatoires musclées de la CIA pendant l'administration Bush et j'affirmais que le Président aurait probablement à se prononcer. Ces pratiques ont refait surface dans les travaux de la commission sénatoriale sur le Renseignement. Hier la Sénatrice Dianne Feinstein attaquait la CIA qui aurait fouillé les ordinateurs des enquêteurs du Sénat qui travaillaient sur la CIA. Le Président obama a fait le point en fin de journée. Aurait-il pu s'attaquer plus ouvertement aux pratiques en vigueur sous son prédécesseur? Il ne le dit pas...

 "When he took office, Obama said, he ended the practices that are subject to the investigation by the Senate committee.

 “Since that time, we have worked with the Senate committee so that the report that they are putting forward is well informed and what I have said is that I am absolutely committed to declassifying that report as soon as the report is completed,” he said. “In fact, I would urge them to go ahead and complete the report and send it to us and we will declassify those findings so that the American people can understand what happened in the past and that can help guide us as we move forward.”
