"he Manhattan district attorney’s office has assigned two senior prosecutors to the sexual assault case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn for what promises to be a vigorous court battle.
Joan Illuzzi-Orbon and Ann P. Prunty will work alongside Artie McConnell on the case, according to several people briefed on the matter, including two assistants currently in the office."
"It was unclear precisely what led Ms. Illuzzi-Orbon and Ms. Prunty to be assigned to the case.
Erin M. Duggan, the chief spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney’s office, declined to comment.
One assistant in the office said that considering the high publicity of the case, it made sense to assign senior prosecutors.
“When you’ve got an important-profile case, you bring in a big gun,” said the prosecutor, who requested anonymity because the office does not allow assistants to speak publicly. “And Illuzzi’s a big gun.”"
